A Tasmanian family is raising money to farewell their mother after she was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the state’s north last week.
The 52-year-old George Town woman died when her Hyundai and a Subaru collided on the Batman Highway at Hillwood on Friday, June 19.
Her four children have launched a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral and memorial costs ahead of a service planned for June 29.
As of Monday, the page had raised $3,520 from 42 donations.
In a message on the page, her daughter Natasha said the family was grieving the “devastating loss”.

“Her passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving behind her four children, Amanda, Jamie, Jonathan and myself, who are all trying to come to terms with losing the most important person in our lives,” she wrote.
“Our mum was a loving, caring and selfless person who always put her family first.”
“She had a heart of gold and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.”
“The pain of losing her so suddenly is something we never imagined we would have to face.”
Natasha said the fundraiser would help give their mother “the beautiful farewell she deserves”.
Tasmania Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
The 42-year-old male driver of the Subaru was taken to the Launceston General Hospital and remains in a stable condition.
Police said initial indications suggested the Subaru had “veered into the lane of the oncoming Hyundai”.
“Anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers,” police said.
