Well-known Circular Head footballer Damien Medwin has been remembered as ‘everyone’s mate’ after passing away in a car crash over the weekend.
The 38-year-old had a decorated career, playing for eight clubs across seven competitions, including over 200 senior NWFL games.
In a tribute, The Forest-Stanley Football Club said “words can’t describe the pain of the loss of you mate!”
“You were always positive our number 13. You made people so welcome. You gave us hope even when the chips were down.”

“Just know we are all having a tear and smile thinking of the great person and fun loving guy Damien was.”
Medwin is survived by his wife Bec and their children Hudson, Jordy, and Marni.
Sunday: 38-year-old man dies after crashing into water
A 38-year-old man has died after crashing into water near Forest in Circular Head overnight.
Police were called to the scene at around 9:30am this morning where they found the vehicle had left Backline Road and crashed into a ‘body of water’.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are not yet known.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
