Launceston’s Country Club is undergoing a massive makeover with the goal of becoming Tasmania’s ‘golfing mecca’.
The club are planning to spend over $5 million to upgrade the facilities, including a new state-of-the-art driving range and minigolf course.
In a bid to draw locals and golf enthusiasts from all over the country, the Country Club say the golf haven will consist of new facilities that will complement the existing golf course, which is currently undergoing a $14 million redesign.
The project is expected to create jobs for 55 people during construction and will feature dining facilities and improved parking.

The redevelopment is part of a larger plan by Federal Group, which is also working on a 372-lot residential subdivision on the Country Club site.
The project is set to be completed by February next year, pending necessary approvals.
