A single-vehicle crash on Hobart’s Southern Outlet has blocked traffic and caused afternoon delays as wet weather makes roads slippery across Tasmania.
The crash occurred in the southbound lane just before the Mount Nelson turnoff shortly before 1pm today, blocking traffic and causing delays.
Tasmania Police confirmed no injuries were reported and the scene was cleared before 1:30pm.
Officers are urging drivers to adjust their speed for wet conditions.

“Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive to the wet conditions,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
They are also asking drivers to turn their headlights on when visibility is poor and to leave extra space between vehicles.

More than 7mm of rain fell around Hobart between 9am and 1pm today, contributing to hazardous road conditions.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast scattered showers and patchy rain across the state today, with drizzle particularly affecting the southeast.
Thunderstorms are possible across much of Tasmania except the far south, with rain expected to ease and contract eastward this evening.
Tomorrow’s forecast predicts morning fog patches followed by showers spreading statewide, becoming more frequent in western areas.

The bureau warns of possible afternoon thunderstorms across central and eastern parts of the state.
North to northwesterly winds are expected to shift west to southwesterly in the evening, with afternoon sea breezes developing around the southeast.
