Updated, Friday 5:40pm: A 33-year-old greater Hobart man has since been arrested in connection with the death and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Earlier: Detectives are investigating after a woman’s body was found in suspicious circumstances at a Hobart home this afternoon.
Police were called to the Montagu Bay property on the city’s eastern shore just before 2:30pm on Friday to conduct a welfare check.
Officers discovered the woman’s body inside the residence.
The death is being treated as suspicious and a crime scene has been declared.
Police have released no details about the woman’s identity or how she died.
