An elderly cyclist has died after coming off his bike in Hobart this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Bridge of Remembrance near the Hobart Cenotaph shortly after 4pm on Thursday after reports that a cyclist had been injured.
Tasmania Police said the man in his 70s struck the bridge and came off his bike.
“Initial inquiries indicate the man came off his bike after making impact with the bridge,” a police spokesperson told Pulse.
“He was provided medical assistance but sadly died at the scene.”

Police said no other vehicles or people were involved.
The spokesperson said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation and a report will be prepared for the coroner,” police said.
