After being denied approval in April 2022, 50 apartments have been given the green light at the Kings Quarters site in Kingston, following changes made by the developer, Traders In Purple.
The proposed six-story complex, with a height of 22.24m, had been refused due to concerns about its impact on the surrounding area and the development’s height.
The developer reduced the building’s height, made changes to the design of the facade and added more landscaping, which led to the Kingborough Council giving its approval.
The development is expected to provide 50 new dwellings and support around 180 jobs during construction.

Demand for the apartments is expected to be high, with the 80 homes in the first stage of the development having been sold 12 months in advance.
The apartments are set to hit the market later this year.
