Designs have been revealed for a new $10.5 million Bridgewater police station that would see the existing station, police house and other buildings demolished.
The upgrade would increase the area of the proposed 6.5m, one-story high station from 847sqm to 1889sqm.
If approved, Bridgewater police officers would operate from temporary premises at Glenorchy Police Station and a shop-front station at the Civic Centre during construction.
The new fit for purpose contemporary station is designed to accommodate future growth across the northern suburbs and includes a significant increase in parking spaces from 24 to 57.
The PCYC buildings would not be affected by the construction, with the plans available for consultation on the Brighton Council website until October 16.
