The installation of the first of seven towering entrance markers around Devonport has begun.
The markers will be positioned at key locations across the city, with the first crafted by local sculptor Matt Calvert installed alongside the Bass Highway.

Constructed from recycled glass and steel, the structure features programmable lights and a shimmering blue-green effect reminiscent of the river and ocean.
Additional markers will soon be installed in Spreyton and near the Spirit of Tasmania terminal in East Devonport.
The $1.15 million project is funded by a government grant to enhance the city’s entrances.
