A man’s alleged attempt to flee police came to an abrupt end in southern Tasmania on Tuesday night when he became bogged in the bush.
Officers from Huonville and Dover tried to pull over the 29-year-old as he travelled south on the Huon Highway near Glendevie at about 10:20pm.

Police allege he refused to stop, instead taking his chances in the scrub.
His vehicle soon became stuck in dense bushland and he was taken into custody a short time later.
The Dover man has been charged with disqualified driving, evading police and breaching bail.
His car has been seized indefinitely.
