Distillers prepare for Hobart gin festival Gin-uary to pour into ninth year

Princes Wharf 1 on Hobart’s waterfront will transform into a gin lover’s paradise next weekend as Gin-uary Hobart celebrates its ninth consecutive year .

The two-day festival, running on January 17-18, has established itself as the state’s premier spirits celebration, featuring more than 25 distillers and over 100 spirits.

Festival Director Nicole Fisher said the event’s enduring appeal comes from its constantly evolving offerings.

“What excites me most is that no two Gin-uary festivals are ever the same,’ she said.

Fisher says the festival prides itself on creating direct connections between consumers and makers, from established brands to newcomers launching their first products.

“That direct connection is what makes Gin-uary special,” she said. “You’re not just tasting a spirit, you’re talking to the person who made it.”

The event will feature local food vendors alongside distillers, with festival-exclusive offers and releases available throughout the three four-hour sessions.

General admission tickets are priced at $75 plus booking fee, with VIP options available at $115 plus booking fee.
