A driver has been caught nearly three times over the legal alcohol limit and others nabbed speeding in separate police operations in the state’s north.
Police pulled over a 44-year-old Devonport man on Saturday morning after spotting him speeding and driving erratically through Campbell Town.
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.138.
Police allege he had been drinking in Hobart the night before and was attempting to drive home.
The man now faces a six-month licence disqualification and an $820 fine.

In a separate crackdown on Monday afternoon, northern road police detected eight speeding motorists on the Bass Highway at Westbury and Hagley in just three hours.
Two drivers were travelling more than 30km/h over the speed limit.
One was clocked at 143km/h at Hagley, while another reached 141km/h at Westbury.
Both face a $615 fine and five demerit points.
Tasmania Police said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to target dangerous driving behaviours.
“Police will continue targeting the fatal five behaviours, including speeding, to make our roads safer,” police said.
Officers also reminded motorists that alcohol and drug testing can occur at any time.
“Never drive after drinking,” police said. “It’s not worth the risk to you or anyone else on our roads.”
