A driver is on the run after a high-speed pursuit through the streets of Greater Launceston on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers attempted to stop a grey Toyota Supra travelling at excessive speed on Pateena Road at Longford on Tuesday afternoon.
The vehicle allegedly evaded police and was later spotted on Margaret Street in Launceston where the driver again managed to escape officers.
Footage taken by a Pulse follower shows the vehicle recklessly passing a police roadblock before taking off through a red light at excessive speed.
The pursuit ended in Trevallyn when the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Authorities have since seized the vehicle.
Police are now asking anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
“Anyone with information or dash cam footage of a grey Toyota Supra driving at excessive speeds in the areas of Pateena Road, Longford, Margaret and Paterson Streets, Launceston between 4pm and 4:15pm Tuesday 14 January should contact police,” a spokesperson said.
