A blue Suzuki has been found abandoned and badly damaged on the Channel Highway south of Hobart, with police now searching for the driver who left the scene.
The car was discovered around 8am on Thursday, wedged against a tree on a gravel verge near the intersection with Harpers Road.
Police say the crash was never reported to them.
“It appears the vehicle may have crashed, however the crash was not reported to police,” a spokesperson told Pulse.

The Suzuki sustained severe damage to its rear and left side, where it appears to have struck the tree.
Images from the scene suggest the driver may have lost control on the curve, spinning or sliding sideways before hitting the tree rear-first.

Officers are now making enquiries into the circumstances of the crash and the driver’s whereabouts.
Pulse understands the vehicle has not been reported stolen.
“Anyone with information that would assist police is asked to contact Kingston Police on 131 444 and quote OR787644,” the spokesperson said.
