Three drivers have been hit with fines totalling more than $2,600 after being caught speeding at over 120km/h on the Brooker Highway.
A 42-year-old man from New Norfolk was pulled over on Saturday night after being clocked riding an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle at 124km/h in an 80km/h zone.
He copped a $1,111 fine, six demerit points and a three-month disqualification.
In a separate incident, a 21-year-old man from West Moonah was caught doing 125km/h in the same zone.
He was handed a $1,161.50 fine, six demerit points and a four-month disqualification.
A 20-year-old P-plater was also fined $353.50 and issued three demerit points for speeding 25 km/h over the limit.
Earlier that day, police seized a motorbike in Plenty after it was caught doing 107km/h in a 60km/h zone on Glenora Road.
The bike was impounded for 28 days and the rider was slapped with a $1,161.50 fine, six demerit points and a six-month license disqualification.
“If you’re thinking of speeding on the roads, please think again, you risk killing or seriously injuring yourself or someone else in a crash,” police said.
“The message from police is simple, slow down.”
