Motorists travelling on Hobart’s Brooker Highway should expect delays this week as repair works get underway on a key stretch of the road.
The works will target the Glenorchy-bound lanes between the Domain Highway interchange and Risdon Road in New Town.
Crews will work overnight from 7pm to 6am, with works having started last night and running until Friday, February 6, weather permitting.
Single lane closures will be in place during working hours, with drivers advised to allow up to 15 minutes extra travel time.
Both lanes will reopen during the day, but a reduced speed limit of 60km/h will apply around the clock due to changed road conditions and loose stones.

The project is part of the freight capacity upgrade program, which is strengthening roads and bridges across the state to better support heavy vehicle traffic.
According to the Department of State Growth, the works will improve freight productivity, boost efficiency and network reliability, enhance road safety and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
The Brooker Highway project is one of 14 sites currently being upgraded under the program.
Other active projects include sections of the Lyell Highway, Midland Highway, Arthur Highway and Tasman Highway.
Five sites were completed last year, including stretches of the Midland Highway and Boyer Road in New Norfolk.
