Tasmania Police are now appealing for information about the incident, as drone operations are prohibited within national parks.

“Do you know anything about who was operating a drone in the Dove Lake area, at the base of Cradle Mountain in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, on 25 December (Christmas Day)?” police said.

Drones are a popular Christmas gift

“If so, please contact Tasmania Police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at crimestopperstas.com.au.”
