A serious crash involving a truck and a car has shut the East Derwent Highway in both directions at Risdon Cove.
Police have closed the highway between the Bowen Bridge and the roundabout near Grasstree Hill Road.

The driver of the car has been taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the highway is expected to remain blocked for the next two hours until around 7pm as crash investigators examine the scene.
They are asking motorists to take an alternative route.
“Significant traffic disruptions are expected,” police said.
