Police and emergency services remain at the scene of the crash, which has left the vehicle on its side blocking all lanes of the highway.
No serious injuries have been reported in the incident, according to police.
Authorities have advised motorists heading north to use alternative routes to avoid the congestion.
“Drivers should divert along Gage Road and Briggs Road to Brighton,” a police spokesperson said.
