With just one week to go until polling day, over 26,000 people have already cast their votes in the 2024 State Election.

Fourteen pre-poll locations will be fully operational for early voting from Monday, leading up to the offical polling day on Saturday, March 23.

In Braddon, nearly 6,000 votes have been cast, while Franklin has seen over 3,600 votes and Clark has tallied less than 3,000.

Tasmanian Electoral Commissioner Andrew Hawkey said anyone unable to vote on polling day can do so any day next week.

“Interstate and overseas electors are eligible to vote by phone or at an interstate pre-poll centre located in every mainland capital city,” he said.

On Saturday, 255 polling places will open across various schools, council offices and community centres throughout the state.

Voting in the State Election is compulsory, with ‘failure to vote’ fines potentially being issued.

The latest polling data suggests that neither the Liberals nor Labor will secure a majority government.
