Tasmanians affected by bushfires on the West Coast can now access emergency assistance grants, with the state government announcing financial support for impacted communities.
Residents in the hard-hit areas of Corinna, Sandy Cape and Pieman’s River are eligible for immediate relief payments of $250 per adult and $125 per child, up to a maximum of $1,000 per household.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the grants would help meet urgent basic needs for those away from home.
“These are to support people affected with matters such as food, clothing, shelter and other essential daily needs,” Premier Jeremy Rockliff emphasised.
