Emergency services are set to swarm Hobart Airport today as they put the airport’s emergency plan to the test.
The planned training exercise is a Civil Aviation Safety Authority requirement and will see “an increased emergency services presence” at the airport from 9am to 3:30pm.

Inspector Jon Cooper reassures travellers that there is “no need for concern,” as crews are simply ‘practicing and refining’ their response in a realistic and safe environment.
“On behalf of everyone involved, we thank the public and any travellers for their cooperation and understanding while we conduct this necessary training exercise today,” Cooper said.
The training exercise will not disrupt regular passenger flights.
