Firefighters are currently battling a blaze that has engulfed a home in Hobart’s northern suburbs.
Crews from Bridgewater and Glenorchy were called to the Gagebrook address on Tottenham Road just after 11:30am.

They arrived to find half of the property on fire.
Thick black smoke is billowing into the air, with authorities telling locals to avoid smoke where possible.
“Smoke from this fire is visible in the Gagebrook and surrounding areas area,” the TFS have warned.
“There is no threat to the general public. People who don’t need to be in the immediate area should stay away.”
