A Launceston-based pop-punk group have won themselves a spot on the stage at next week’s Party in the Paddock festival.
Offset Vision beat out dozens of other entries to win this year’s Unearthed competition and will be playing alongside some of the music industry’s biggest names, such as Rudimental and G Flip, at the festival.
PITP organisers are promising Offset Vision will captivate the audience with their “unique blend of influences ranging from metalcore to hip hop”.
The group’s singles, including “Upside Down”, “Can’t Distract Myself” and the newly released “Dissociate”, use an ‘energetic and bouncy vibe’ to delve into themes of anxiety, depression and loss.
The band is made up of Tasmanian locals James Baker, Mark Fletcher, Callum Jai Elijah Holmberg, Ollie Pearce and Keenan McCarth.
The announcement comes as organisers have officially released set times this morning, ahead of the festival’s opening at Quercus Park in Carrick on February 8.
The independent Tasmanian-owned and operated festival is set to host over 100 artists this year, including UK band Rudimental and German band Milky Chance – known for their 2013 smash hit “Stolen Dance”.
