The occupants of three cars have luckily escaped injury after an excavator bucket fell off a trailer on the Huon Highway this morning.
Police say the small digger’s bucket struck three vehicles near the Leslie Vale turnoff, 3 kilometres south of Kingston.

The extent of damage to the cars is not yet clear.
One lane of traffic will be closed for the next hour as authorities work to clear the scene.
Motorists are being urged to take an alternative route.
