Tasmanians eager to step aboard the state’s new Spirit of Tasmania IV ferry will now have an extra chance, with another day of free tours added to the schedule.
Tours will run on Friday, October 10, in addition to the previously announced Saturday and Sunday sessions.
The 45-minute self-guided tours give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the vessel, which arrived in Hobart last month after being built in Finland.
Sessions will run from 9am to 3pm each day, with several tours departing every hour across the three-day programme.

Guests can wander through decks, cabins, lounges and other facilities, guided by red dots and a personal map.
The tours will be held at MAC 02 in Hobart while the ferry undergoes its local fit-out.

On arrival, visitors must check in and complete a safety briefing in small groups before boarding.
Prams must be stored at entry, bags checked and no food or alcohol is allowed on board.
Toilets will be available during the walking tour and Spirit of Tasmania staff will be stationed at an information tent as guests leave.
The Spirit of Tasmania IV is one of two new ferries set to replace the current vessels on the Bass Strait route in late 2026 or early 2027.

Tickets for the free tours are limited and must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.
