The family of 14-year-old Jesse Hall is mourning the loss of their “light, heart and soul” following a moped crash in Austins Ferry earlier this month.

Hall, a Year 8 student at Cosgrove High School, suffered fatal injuries on Friday, April 11, when riding a friend’s moped without a helmet.

His parents, Melissa and Steve Hall, who shared custody of Jesse and his twin brother Kyle, said his injuries were too severe for recovery.

“Jesse was a beautiful, bright, kind boy. He loved life and hanging with his mates,” they said.

“He had a funny sense of humour and always a sense of fun and adventure.”

They said Jesse’s passion for anything with wheels defined much of his young life.

“He loved riding his pushbike but mainly was obsessed with anything with a motor.”

The bond between Jesse and his twin brother Kyle was particularly special, with the pair rarely seen apart.

“Jesse didn’t need any mates, he just had his brother there and they just did everything together. You wouldn’t see them separated,” they added.

Jesse is survived by his twin Kyle, older siblings Tyren and Montana, half-brother Liam and step siblings Noah, Belle and Zara.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Jesse’s step-aunt Kristy Charlton to help cover funeral expenses.

Over $11,000 has been raised so far.

“He will forever be remembered as a kind, caring, generous, high spirited young man with adventure on his mind,” the fundraising page states.
