A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash at Mount Direction in Tasmania’s north early this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports of a serious crash on Old Bangor Tram Road shortly after 2:00am on Sunday.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Launceston General Hospital for treatment.
Police remain at the crash site and have advised motorists to avoid the area until further notice.
“Investigations into the crash are ongoing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner,” a police spokesperson said.
