Tasmanian man Dave Hoppitt has passed away after a more than two-year battle with cancer.
The father of four was given a devastating diagnosis of advanced and aggressive stage three testicular cancer in July 2022.
Within weeks of noticing the initial symptoms, Hoppitt’s cancer had spread across his body, including his abdomen, lymph nodes and lungs.
Friends of the Hoppitt family say “everyone feels incredibly helpless” and have launched a GoFundMe to support his family.
“It is so hard to comprehend that someone so wonderful as Dave could be taken from us all. We are all utterly heartbroken,” the fundraiser reads.
“Dave was such an incredible father, husband, son, uncle, friend and colleague.”
“It is heartbreaking to think that he will miss out on so many wonderful times with his family and so many more adventures with his friends.”
Throughout his heartbreaking journey, Hoppitt raised thousands of dollars for the Cancer Council Tasmania.
So far, more than $32,000 has been raised for his family.
