Fifteen new constables have officially joined Tasmania Police after graduating from the academy this week, bolstering frontline services across the state.
The graduates of recruit course 5/2024 bring diverse professional backgrounds to the force, with their skills now being deployed to police stations throughout Tasmania.
Police Minister Felix Ellis said the new officers have varied experiences.
“From project managers to personal trainers, our new officers have come from all walks of life, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience with them,” Ellis said.
The new constables have completed intensive training with what officials described as a “back-to-basics” focus, preparing them for immediate deployment to 24-hour police stations.
“Tasmania Police are the most trusted in the country, and after rigorous training we are confident our newest recruits will live up to the high standards Tasmanians expect,” Ellis said.
The fresh officers will be stationed at Glenorchy, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Bridgewater and Hobart.
