Pulse understands the fire started in the kitchen before spreading to the roof space and quickly engulfing the entire store.

Multiple firefighters from Glenorchy, Bridgewater and Hobart remained at the burning fast-food outlet just before 10pm as efforts to extinguish the fire continue.

They are asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area.

Workers have told Pulse their phones, car keys and other belongings left inside the building as they evacuated are likely gone.

TasNetworks were temporarily forced to cut power to around 850 customers around Glenorchy, Rosetta and Montrose as a result of the fire.

“Flames were reaching our high voltage lines and we’ve had to drop the feed to protect safety,” a spokesperson said.

Fire investigators have launched an investigation into the blaze.
