Firefighters have rushed to contain a large hay bale fire that broke out in the Meander Valley this evening.
The TFS say around 200 to 300 hay bales caught fire at a barn on Harwood Road in Dairy Plains, just east of Mole Creek.

Crews from Deloraine, Mole Creek and the Meander brigades responded to the blaze and are currently working to prevent the flames from spreading.
