Qantas has revealed a concept design for a new lounge at Hobart Airport, showcasing a modern space inspired by Tasmania’s natural landscape.
Set to open in 2026, the new Hobart Qantas Club will be significantly larger than the previous space.
It will feature increased seating capacity and runway views for travellers.
The lounge has already moved to a temporary space opposite Gate 5 while construction of the new space progresses.

“Inspired by Tasmania’s stunning natural landscapes, the new lounge will offer substantially more space and increased seating options with runway views,” the airline said.
The investment comes as Hobart Airport undergoes a major transformation of its own.

A $200 million terminal upgrade began in February 2024 and is expected to be completed in early 2027.
The airport currently handles around 2.6 million passengers a year, well above its design capacity of 1.5 million, with numbers forecast to reach 3.5 million by 2030.
Once complete, the terminal expansion will double the airport’s size, adding two more departure gates for a total of seven, a third security screening lane, an extra baggage carousel and new food and retail outlets.
