The Tasmania Football Club has lodged a planning application for its state-of-the-art $105 million training facility.
Plans for the high-performance training and administration centre in Kingston, south of Hobart, were lodged with the Kingborough Council this week.
Once built, it will serve as the nerve centre for the club’s operations as it prepares to join the AFL and AFLW in 2028, a timeline chief executive Brendon Gale says is still on track.
“The submission of the application of planning permit is a significant milestone for Tasmania Football Club,” Gale said.

“The high-performance training and administration facility is a critical piece of infrastructure for our club. It will be the workplace of our on and off-field staff and an essential ingredient to our club’s success and sustainability.”
The planning push follows community engagement sessions with the Kingborough Council and local sporting clubs.

Those sessions, Gale said, were crucial in fine-tuning the proposal.
“We believe that the proposal strikes the right balance between meeting the high-performance needs of elite football and integrating respectfully with the precinct’s character, environmental values and role in the community,” he said.
