The first allocation of tickets for the Foo Fighters’ exclusive Tasmanian concert sold out in less than 45 minutes on Friday, as fans rushed to secure their spot at the newly announced event.
Stadiums Tasmania chief executive James Avery confirmed the pre-sale was exhausted quickly, with a majority of tickets going to Tasmanian residents.
“We’re thrilled with the response to the first ticket pre-sales opening … with Foo Fighter fans coming out in force to completely exhaust this first allocation in less than 45 minutes,” Avery told Pulse.
The Grammy-winning rock band will perform their only Australian show in more than two years at UTAS Stadium in Launceston on January 24, 2026, their first appearance in Tasmania since 2015.

Accommodation in Launceston is selling out rapidly as fans from across Tasmania and Australia prepare to make the journey for the exclusive performance.
Fans who missed out on the initial release still have opportunities to secure tickets, with Frontier Touring members able to access the next pre-sale on December 8 from 1pm, followed by general public sales at 4pm on December 10.

“Hosting an artist of this calibre proves that Tasmania can deliver events of a national and international standard while retaining the unique character that sets us apart,” Avery said.
The Tasmanian Government contributed $500,000 to help secure the event, which Treasurer Eric Abetz said is expected to deliver an 11-to-1 return on investment.
The Launceston City Council has also contributed $150,000.
