Five cars stolen as thieves target North Hobart car yard in early morning raid

Police have launched an investigation after five vehicles were stolen during a brazen overnight burglary at a North Hobart car yard.

The theft occurred on Elizabeth Street between 1:30am and 6:30am today, with criminals allegedly making off with a collection of vehicles valued at tens of thousands of dollars.

Authorities are seeking public assistance to locate the stolen vehicles, which include a grey 2015 Holden VF ute, a red 2013 Ford Falcon sedan, a silver 2007 BMW 1 Series hatchback, a black 2016 Toyota Rav4 and a red 2019 VW Tiguan.

The South East Criminal Investigation Branch is handling the case and has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the vehicles.

Each vehicle has been identified by its registration number, with police particularly keen to track the Holden ute (K75QF), Ford Falcon (D89AT), BMW hatchback (L15MO), Toyota Rav4 (F42FN) and VW Tiguan (K85WT).

Anyone with information relating to the burglary or who has seen any of the stolen vehicles is asked to contact South East CIB on 131 444 and quote reference number OR774664.
