Five teenagers, including one 19-year-old, have been charged over the alleged assault of a man and a teenager outside McDonalds in Ulverstone earlier this month.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday March 12, gained widespread attention after video footage of the assault was circulated on social media.
Sergeant Alex Bonde has confirmed that eight people have been identified as being involved in the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
“The footage was confronting to watch, and this behaviour is unacceptable,” said Bonde.

“Violent and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and people who engage in such behaviour can expect to be met with an appropriate response from Tasmania Police.”
“We would like to thank members of the community for their assistance in the investigation so far,” added Bonde.
“We encourage anyone that witnesses anti-social or violent behaviour to call police.”
