Police have seized two vehicles this week as part of operations targeting hooning in southern Tasmania.

A Ford Falcon was impounded on Thursday night after it was allegedly involved in dangerous driving on Woodlands Drive in Blackmans Bay at about 11:30pm.

The seizure follows the impounding of a Holden Commodore at Seven Mile Beach on Monday, also linked to hooning.

Police said the Commodore should not have been on the road in the first place.

“In addition to the significant safety risk posed by this behaviour and the disruption caused to nearby residents, police identified that the vehicle was unregistered and unroadworthy,” a spokesperson said.

Both cars have been impounded for 28 days.

Tasmania Police warned hoons they would face serious consequences when caught.

“Police continue to target hooning drivers and warn offenders that when you are caught, you will be fined and separated from your car for a significant period of time,” police said.
