Former senior Liberal staffer Barbara McGregor has been appointed to a newly created executive role at Tasmanian insurance company RACT.
Barbara McGregor previously served as deputy chief of staff to former premiers Peter Gutwein and Jeremy Rockliff.
She was also a deputy CEO of Marinus Link.
She has now been appointed as the new chief strategy officer at RACT.

An RACT spokesperson confirmed the appointment to Pulse, with McGregor’s new role understood to include work on digital transformation, government relations and communications.
“Throughout RACT’s 103-year history, one thing has remained constant: our unwavering commitment to our members,” they said.

“We operate in a complex, fast-moving and continually changing environment and it is essential that RACT evolves so we can continue to deliver the value and high standards of service our members expect.”
“That includes responding to emerging challenges such as the impact of a changing climate on insurance risk, while embracing opportunities presented by AI, new technology and increasingly sophisticated, data-driven service models.”
The spokesperson said new executive team changes were “designed to strengthen service delivery and enhance the member experience”.
“We have made changes to our executive team to ensure RACT has the leadership, capability and structure needed to respond to this changing environment and continue delivering for our members,” they said.
“They will not result in the loss of any frontline roles.”
