The Tasmania Football Club has appointed James Creak as its new commercial chief, poaching the experienced operator from Uber as the Devils prepare for their AFL debut.
The appointment comes as the island’s football club fields growing interest from potential sponsors and partners, with CEO Brendon Gale describing commercial enthusiasm as “extremely strong”.
A proud Tasmanian with a wealth of national and international experience, Creak will officially take the reins of the club’s partnerships program on June 2.
His focus will be on securing major sponsorships, forging brand alliances and leading strategic revenue initiatives that could prove crucial to the Devils’ long-term sustainability.

“After a rigorous recruitment process, we are delighted to secure James Creak as our general manager commercial and partnerships,” Gale said.
“James joins the club as a Tasmanian with significant national and international commercial and partnership experience.”

Creak’s background includes senior roles in both the corporate sector and the AFL industry.
“The opportunity to establish the commercial and partnership program of Tasmania Football Club is something that I am extremely excited to be responsible for,” Creak said.
“The team have built a solid foundation that I am looking forward to building upon.”
“I am confident the Devils will continue to attract great interest from prospective local, national and international partners and I cannot wait to get stuck into those conversations.”
