New Year’s celebrations took an unexpected turn for four people who were rescued from a boat that ran into trouble off the coast of Clifton Beach in the early hours of the morning.
The occupants were forced to call for assistance after their vessel experienced mechanical failure and became stranded on a rocky area just north of Cape Deslacs.

Officers from Tasmania’s new South West Police Vessel Van Diemen responded swiftly to the call for help and safely rescued the group of four.
Fortunately, none of the individuals sustained any injuries during the incident.
