Another sinkhole has opened up on a busy Hobart Street, just weeks after a previous sinkhole was discovered.
The City of Hobart located the latest hole on Molle Street, close to where the last sinkhole was found late last month.
However, the council has said that this one “will not result in any lane closures”.
“City of Hobart staff will make it safe tonight and undertake more work on it tomorrow,” a spokesperson said.
“The City of Hobart is working in collaboration with TasWater to find the cause of the sinkholes.”

November 1: 3m deep, 2m wide sinkhole found on busy Hobart city street
A sinkhole that opened up on busy Hobart City street yesterday is causing disruptions for motorists.
According to the City of Hobart, the sinkhole measures 3 metres in depth and 2 metres in width, despite appearing “quite small” on the surface.
The council say it opened up on Molle Street between Macquarie and Collins Streets on Tuesday afternoon.
A lane of traffic was closed while crews worked to repair the sinkhole, a process that took a ‘few hours’.
Further investigations on Wednesday morning revealed smaller voids underneath the road surface, which are expected to be fully fixed by the end of the week.

Hobart City enablers director Michael Reynolds said the sinkhole was caused by underlying clay materials that migrated due to water seepage.
Investigations are ongoing to determine if damaged underground infrastructure, such as sewer or stormwater pipes, played a role in causing the sinkhole.
Sinkholes of a similar size occur about once a year in Hobart.
