Australian frozen yogurt chain Yo-Chi has hinted at the possibility of opening a store in Hobart, after a petition calling for an outlet in Tasmania launched online.

Started by Hobart resident Victoria Monson, the petition outlines the “void” and “undeniable absence” of Yo-Chi in the state, suggesting a Hobart Yo-Chi store would be a hit.

“Statistics show a growing trend of health-conscious Australians opting for healthier dessert options such as frozen yogurts,” Monson said.

She says she believes Yo-Chi can “cultivate a robust following in Hobart, as it has done in so many other cities across Australia”.

“Let’s bring a twist to Tasmania’s dessert scene. Let’s bring Yo-Chi to Hobart, for the love of frozen yogurts and healthy, delightful eating,” the petition reads.

Speaking to Pulse, Yo-Chi Chief Operating Officer Brooke Rodger said the company “loves Hobart” and its “amazing energy”.
