G’day Group has expanded its presence in one of Australia’s most iconic tourism destinations with the acquisition of Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village.
The new addition sits alongside the company’s existing Discovery Parks Cradle Mountain site, which recently underwent a $20 million upgrade, adding new family and premium cabins.
The Wilderness Village brings 45 chalet-style rooms and the award-winning Hellyers restaurant into the fold, further strengthening G’day Group’s offering in the region.
Group Founder and CEO Grant Wilckens said the move would enhance the visitor experience at the world-famous wilderness destination.

“Cradle Mountain is one of the most spectacular and iconic natural destinations in Australia and it continues to be a drawcard destination for both domestic and international travellers,” Wilckens said.
“We now offer options to catering to every budget and type of traveller from overnight campsites for hikers and caravaners, to premium accommodation and dining for luxury travellers.”

The company plans to gradually integrate the Wilderness Village into its existing operations, with no changes to current bookings during the transition.
Once the integration is complete, the property will be rebranded as Discovery Resorts Cradle Mountain Village.
Wilckens said his company is committed to preserving what makes the region special.
“Importantly, we recognise the appeal of this destination is in its natural beauty and we are committed to operating with care and working in conjunction with Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service to enhance this appeal,” he said.

Since its founding in 2004, G’day Group has grown into Australia’s leading regional accommodation provider, with more than 330 properties across the country.
The business currently manages assets worth $2 billion, with plans to grow that to $2.5 billion by 2026.
