With an estimated total restoration cost of around $30m – $40m, the State Government grant will allow the council to investigate the possibility of a pool recreation precinct.

Attorney-General Elise Archer said she has been a member of the much-loved pool since 2010 and is “very pleased” to invest in finding the best way forward.

“This investment will enable the Council to engage with the local community about the current site and determine what is the best use for the space moving forward,” Archer said.

The funds will be used to hire a specialist who will assess the community needs, costings and options for the pool in the future.
