Goss had earlier told reporters on-scene that she had lost everything in the fire, saying she returned from shopping with her daughter to find the home engulfed in flames.

“I’ve just lost everything. Like I’ve had stuff in there for going back 40 years,” she said.

“I haven’t stopped crying yet and I was just worried about my neighbour because she’s had animals inside.”

“I’ve just lost probably 40 years of sentimental values that I’ve had at the moment. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. Not only do I feel numb, I feel lost.”

Fire investigators estimate the blaze caused around $250,000 in damage to the property.
