Tasmania’s ports authority has brought in fresh board leadership, appointing Greg McCann as chair alongside three new directors as part of an ongoing renewal.
McCann, a Tasmanian company director and financial consultant, steps into the top role at TasPorts, which manages the state’s network of commercial ports and oversees everything from cargo ships to passenger ferries.
He brings a variety of experience, having previously chaired NBN Tasmania and served on the Tasmanian Development Board.
Joining him on the refreshed board are new non-executive directors Evelyn Horton, with a background in investment banking, Wayne Porritt, who brings global finance expertise and Zorana Bull, an infrastructure and engineering specialist.

Infrastructure Minister Kerry Vincent said the appointments followed a national recruitment campaign that drew close to 200 applicants.
“Together, these appointments deliver an outstanding mix of experience across infrastructure, finance, strategic governance and international leadership,” Vincent said.

McCann said he was looking forward to the role at what he called a pivotal time for the organisation.
“TasPorts plays a foundational role in ensuring Tasmania remains connected to national and international markets,” he said.
“I look forward to working with my fellow board members and the broader organisation to support continued delivery, strengthen relationships with stakeholders and help shape a positive future for the business and for the state.”
The board refresh began in December with the appointments of former Fremantle Ports CEO Chris Leatt-Hayter and sustainability leader Jules Scarlett.
Departing director Amara Doyle wraps up nearly four years on the board, including six months as interim chair.
