Multiple fire crews from Devonport, Railton, Latrobe and Sheffield rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the explosions around 6am on Thursday.

The Tasmania Fire Service confirmed extensive damage to the property.

“Crews responded to a report of 2x 45kg gas cylinders exploding,” a spokesperson said.

“On arrival they found that half the house, a caravan, a vehicle and a carport were fully involved in fire.”

No injuries have been reported, though authorities have not confirmed whether anyone was home when the fire began.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
