Tasmania’s popular Hastings Caves tourist destination has been forced to partially close due to equipment failure this month.
The closure, which took effect on Friday, includes the pool, barbecues and short walks near the visitor center.
According to a statement released by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service, the repairs are expected to be completed within the next 7 to 14 days.
The visitor center and cave tours, however, will remain open to visitors.
The short notice of the closure has left many tourists frustrated and disappointed, with many having planned their visits around the use of the thermal pool and other facilities.
In the statement, the Parks and Wildlife Service apologised for the inconvenience caused and encouraged visitors to stay updated by visiting the PWS website.
