Hobart Hip hop-inspired eatery Corner Boys has served its final customers at its Collins Street venue.
The street food restaurant, known for combining fried chicken with “old school hip hop beats”, ceased operations at its CBD location on September 6.
Located opposite City Hall in a converted service station, Corner Boys had established itself as “more than just a bar”.
“We’re a community hub where food, music, and art come together to create a community space for everyone,” the venue’s website reads.

In a statement posted to social media, management described the closure as “a goodbye, but not forever.”
“We have made the hard decision that we will be closing our venue doors for the last time” they said.

The business plans to transition to an online-only model, with a temporary pause in service as they relocate to a new kitchen space.
“We will be closed off for all online orders as we move into our new kitchen space and back serving a week from Monday the 8th.”
“This has given us the opportunity to also expand our services further across Hobart into the northern suburbs and surrounds which we are so excited about!”
